Welcome to the Cambourne Town Council website, providing information about the town of Cambourne and the activities, roles and responsibilities of the Town Council.
Cambourne is the largest town within the South Cambridgeshire district, comprising the villages of Lower, Great and Upper Cambourne, with an approximate population of 12,000 people and 4,250 homes. The Town Council is the tier of local government closest to the people. The second tier of government for Cambourne is South Cambridgeshire District Council and the third tier is Cambridgeshire County Council. Understand how your council works.
On our website we outline the services provided by the Town Council, along with the details of our meetings, committees, councillors, policies and employees. This site will enable you to find out about community facilities and the status of actions outlined in the recently published Parish Plan.
Cambourne is a vibrant community and it is our intention to enable more residents to play an active role in the community, through participation in community events and activities, volunteering, attendance at Town Council meetings, ideas for community development, or simply taking advantage of our excellent community and sports facilities within the villages.
The Town Council has 19 councillors and meets on the first Tuesday of the month (with the exception of August in which there is no meeting). In addition to full council, duties and powers have been delegated to three committees.
